I posted this in another section, under "gifts for your man"...but this site is confusing to me right now, so I will just post it here and see what you have to say.
BF and I have been together 2 1/2 years, and he is turning 21 in a month. I am 22, so people have been asking me what I did for that occasion, and then just alter it for him. We didn't do much on my 21st birthday, we had home-made pizza and a 6-pack of Mike's Hard Lemonade. We are pretty no-frills people, so we don't really celebrate birthdays or holidays. He doesn't have friends here, and not a very social person in general. He prefers to stay at home and play video games and since he's a programmer, he does a lot on the computer, too. I don't want to have his 21st birthday go by unnoticed. He is just happy he can buy booze on that day. For his 20th birthday I wrote him a nice letter and got food from the Olive Garden, which is his favorite restaurant. We also got a grill a few days after his birthday, because he likes to grill. I wouldn't say it was really for "him", but he says that we got it for us, and we had an excuse because it's his birthday. I don't know what to do on this birthday at all. Obviously, the drinking aspect is not the biggest deal, since it's not as if we don't aqlready have beer in the house and what not. I am so bad with gifts for him. He is a self-proclaimed geek, but has everything a "geek" would need. Even video games...since he is very computer savvy, he manages to download games off of the computer and then transfer them to our gaming system, so there is really no need to buy one. I know his back usually hurts him, so I was thinking maybe I could get a back massager for him, but I don't want to be so impersonal. I have tons of time to think about it, but I don't want to end up confused a day before his birthday and be stuck. Any ideas?
S***r
Get his a couples massage or acupuncture appointment. Then it helps his back, it's something he's probably never done before and it's kind of romantic. For dinner take him out to the Olive Garden so he can finally order his own beer in a restaurant without having to worry about being IDed.
Other things you can do is buy a massage kit from The Body Shop or a sex store and give him your own sexy massage. Maybe try taking him go karting or something OUTSIDE of the house that he's never done before. Helicopter ride? To a good 'ol Karaokee bar?
Just think of someting he's never done before and then take him to do that. There are lots of good ideas just pick one you think he'll enjoy.
Good luck
1See, you're much more creative and logical than I am! Those are really good ideas.
2You can try this gift below. My boyfriend loved it. He's also a practical science geek, and he doesn't like to buy things he doesn't "need".

3How about another dinner out? Or something else to get you both out of the house? Even a drinks or a movie would be nice. It sounds like he buys enough of his geek stuff on his own. A chair support or back massage sounds OK too like mentioned above. I'm sure he would even appreciate a new shirt or shaving kit or something personal too.
