B-day Gift Ideas for New Boyfriend --- Help!
My boyfriend and I have only been dating a month tops! And although I really like him and could see this going long term, I don't want to get him something too flashy or expensive, but something he would like and possibly use often. It should also communicate how much I like him.
We are not at the our picture in the frame stage yet so something with less pressure. His friends are having a huge party already so nothing like that... I haven't had to deal with this in a long time any gift ideas!!!

Post a Commenthow about a favorite book or dvd that he likes? What are his hobbies? Does he play sports. Maybe add some more info.
A book or DVD is an excellent idea! It is thoughtful without being too OTT. I'd write a note in the inside just as a personal touch. Doesn't have to be flowery, just "Happy Birthday" and your name and the date. I'd always apreciate a really excellent bottle of wine, something that is a little uncommon, that you had to go to "that" special little store to get.
Make him a fabulous dinner- I did that for my fiance last year for his birthday and he was really touched that I went to all the effort to make something he would really like- and it didnt cost a fortune- it just took all freakin day
and he really thought it was funny when he came
home over an hour early from work and I spazzed bc I had it all planned out for when he usually gets home and so I didnt have everything completely ready yet.
And if you usually dont cook he will be really impressed that you tried- even if it doesnt turn out perfectly
Well, if he likes a certain designer cologne and you know what it is, I would go with that..
With some like Aqua Di Gio by Armani, they also give you a designer deordorant bar with the cologne package.. which is excellent.
why not make him something? like a blanket? well, i don't know if you sew or not, but that can be an idea.
1. Why not buy him a really nice leather wallet, and have his initals printed on it. Very personal, but yet not over the top.
2. Or find out what his fav sport is and try and get him tickets to watch it.
3.flying lessons if he is into that.
How about a nice key ring that is inscribed with a message. I got one for my half brother for his B.D. We don't see each other often but met for dinner out. I wanted something for him that he would think of me when he seen it. I went to a place in the Mall....think it was called Things Remembered where they would personalized whatever you bought. I found a really nice key ring for a guy, had a heavy silver tag on it & they inscribed it for me.....it went over really well. He loved it & the thought behind it.
How about buying him the book The Greatest Movie Car Chases of All Time by Jesse Crosse. You can get it on Amazon.com. I bought it for my husband and he devoured it. A Steve McQueen or John Wayne movie would do it, too. That kind of gift says "I dig your masculinity and I celebrate your macho-cool-studliness."
Here is a gift that wows a lot of people.
Find out what his favorite movie is – if he doesn’t own it – get the collectors edition dvd with all the behind the scenes and stuff. Then get a simple plastic bowl from Target and fill it with microwavable popcorn, licorice, gummy bears and other ‘movie theater style’ candy that you can find any target or any drug store. You can even decorate the bowl with his name if you want.
Wrap it all up with clear wrap with a little tag that says “Good for One Movie Night for Two.” That way you can watch his favorite movie with him, eat his favorite candy and it costs no more than $20 for the bowl and candy plus the cost of the dvd.
If he already owns his favorite movie, get him a new movie release. Better yet, sign him up for an annual Netflix subscription. The gift that keeps on coming!
Anything you get him sweetie, he will love! Good Luck!
Well, there are some great ideas here. I'm a little stuck in adding to these suggestions since you haven't given much information about him. It's smart to not buy anything expensive until you know him better. Sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders!
Here's an article I wrote on what to consider before selecting a gift. I hope you find something helpful in it.
Good luck!
