Ok so I have a party to go to and a dress I bought months ago...well of course, due to Holiday eating and eating the dress is a little small. So, I need to lose a little bit of weight FAST. Just about 5-10lbs would be great. Does anyone know a good diet that will take off the pounds fast?

If you lost it fast, you'll put it back on fast. The best way to lose it is slowly, for example, 1-2lbs a week...try looking into Weight Watchers. It's the best...I lost 25lbs on it! The first week I lost about 5lbs, and then the weeks after that averaged about 1-2lbs/week. Best of luck!
1try a detox, just to get rid of water weight and stuff...see if u can drop some that way
2Drink lots of water for the days prior to the party and cut out on salty foods. It works magic for me, I've been losing those critical inches before a big event like that for a year now. It takes of around 5 lbs in a week. (It works best if you don't drink lots of water on a regular basis).
3drink a lot of water and the night before don't eat dinner and the next morning don't eat breakfast.. if im going to the beach with a bunch of friends and i want my stomach to look real flat i jst do tht.. it really makes a difference
4Have soups especially for lunch and dinner. Not cream soups but vegetable, chicken noodle, minestrone. Walk for 45 minutes every day before the event and do crunches at night.
Drink a lot of water.
This is gross but if you can drink prune juice it makes you go to the potty and cleans you out.
5Even though its not the healthiest- slightly fasting helps.( cutting down to half or so of the calories u normally eat) If I have a week before something I usually do that. Things with super low calories and no fat like soups and yogurt. Egg beaters are great because they hardly have any calories and no fat and are full of good stuff (like protein) without all the bad stuff and with a little red-fat cheese they are great. Just dont add oil when cooking them use a no fat no calorie spray in the pan. ( when im doimg the normal dieting egg beater are always on my menu for any meal, even dinner sometimes- plus it makes me feel full, and its good for working out without the calories/fat/cholestrol of normal eggs) Stay away from most carbs and youll lose 5/10 pounds in a week or so and honestly probally feel pretty good- almost like you detoxed. In a perfect world woman wouldnt have to crash diet but since thats not always a reality try to do it the healtiest way possible.
6A mostly liquid diet like broths and water and fruits for a few days will get a few pounds off quickly. But you'll gain it right back once you start eating normally.
7Why not Atkins? I did ti and lost 10 pounds (then put it all back on:( ) but at least its a short term solution.

8Don't cut your calories too much, it's just not healthy, you need at least 1200 a day. What works for me has already been mentioned here and that is to really cut down on the salt, it's hidden in everything so watch out! Check the labels on everything you eat and you'll see. It's especially bad in soups and things like tomatoe juice. Drinking lots of water is good too, and not eating too many breads and wheat-heavy foods (they take a long time to digest). Lean protien, brown rice, lots of fruit and veggies, 8-10 glasses of water a day and you'll be back into that dress in no-time. Have fun at the party

9If you're not worried about gaining it back as quickly as you lost it, try a juice fast, or the master cleanser.
10Whenever I have to fit into one of my smaller outfits, I do it. But it is only water weight you're losing, so its not necessarily going to stay off!
atkins has a tendency your breath smell... you wouldn't want that at the party... exercise like mad and eat a lot of veggies
11What I always do is cut off eating at 7:30PM, Drink as MUCH water as possible, Stay under 21 fat grams a day, and eat 3 good HEALTHY meals with 2 little snacks in between, and diet drinks only. This will burn fat... so it should stay off as long as you eat well. It's a good diet if you have the time!
When doing this diet seriously, I lost 1 pound a day. Of course results do vary, but this is my god mother's program and she has helped hundreds of people get down to their ideal weight. For prom I went from 140 down to 125 in less than a month. It was nice.
And, I only gained about 5 of those pounds back.
12Nutritionists recommend much more fat than that SeaAre86, we all need healthy fats in our diet for lots of reasons (hair, organs, skin, etc). Lack of healthy fats is one reason people with anorexia/bulimia start to have their hair fall out.

I had to go on a 3 day liquid diet for medical reasons and it was a quick way to drop a couple pounds. Your body will be able to absorb the nutrients in the juice and broth very quickly so you won't be as tired as you might normall be on a different kind of diet.
Obviously it's not healthy overall to do this. If you have the time/energy to get the workouts in gear and to just cut back on junk then that is the best way to go.
14This isn't a healthy diet by any means, but it works quickly. It's called a 2-4-6 diet, meaning you eat 200 calories the first day, 400 the second, and 600 the third. If this seems too extreme, a 4-6-8 works as well. This is because with usual fasts, your body tends to freak out and slow down your metabolism a bunch, which actually makes you retain weight. With a 2-4-6, the change in calorie intake confuses your body, meaning your metabolism won't slow. You can continue the diet too for a short period of time: 2-4-6-4-2, etc. Again, this is not healthy at all, but it is quick for sure.
15I think the ideas here are good. You just do not want to stop eating (unless you are doing something like the juice diet or broths) otherwise your body will shut down and you won't lose a thing. And prolly pass out somewhere around the macerana

16For me, the best way to lose weight fast is the South Beach Diet. I was VERY hesitant to do this diet because i LIVE for carbs! But, with regular diets you lose an average of 1-2 lbs a week. Its hard to stay motivated when you can see results for at least a month. But, with South Beach you lose 8-15 lbs in 2 weeks! I am on Phase 1 I have been on it for 6 days and Ive lost 8 lbs so far! It WORKS and its healthy. Definetely the best choice for losing weight fast!
17try the cabbage soup diet a lady i know tried it and lost 20 lbs in one week and her son lost 40 in the same amount of time it realy works even if it tastes a little nasty ow but make sure u only do it for one week at a time or you'll get realy sick
