This is not saga quality, but rather, a simple question. I have been having trouble finding books I am really into lately. I am only 22, but I feel in the middle. In one case I feel the teenage books, while they are a tad bit dramatic, they are kind of satisfying. I also notice that with books aimed towards the older generation, I tend to get bored quite easily, even if the content is somewhat interesting to me.
I have googled this, but haven't found exactly what I am looking for. I love books like My Sister's Keeper, The Virgin Suicides, Something Borrowed (and something Blue), even Twilight. I wasn't a fan of books like The Diary of Bridget Jones, Confessions of a Shopaholic or Revolutionary Road.
I haven't been able to find much information from people my age, and decided this is a good place to come to, where more people can give me their opinions.
Thank you so much!

If I find a book I like, I always look up other books by the same author and read them as well. You can also type a book you like into Amazon and you'll get recommendations of what others liked as well.
1If you are looking for entertaining summer fluff, I recommend Bergdorf Blondes. Portnoy's Complaint (while slightly on the nutty side) is quite funny and a fantastic read. Life of Pi and Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time- amazing book.
2"Franny and Zooey," and "Equus" top my list. My to read list includes "Atlas Shrugged," by Ayn Rand and "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress," by Robert A. Heinlein.
3I really love books, but sometimes fall into ruts and can't find anything I like! I hate when that happens because I miss reading when it isn't a part of my life...
Here are some of my favorites (ooh, I also liked Twilight, the Virgin Suicides and My Sister's Keeper, but I like these books a lot better).
Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver - a family in the 50s moves to Africa as missionaries. The book is told my perspectives of each of the four daughters (age 5-16) and the mother. One of my favorites.
The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffeneger. Not everyone loves this book as much as I did, but it is worth a try... The movie should be coming out later this summer.
The Secret History by Donna Tartt - A story of college kids at an up-scale college in the NE that deals with murder, morality, and relationship bonds. This is an AWESOME book.
I have a bunch more favorites (Geek Love by Katherine Dunn!) but unless we have the same taste in books there isn't a point in listing them all out. Let me know if you want any more suggestions.
4I am usually a fan of romance novels. Its true I love them, but they do get kind of old. I am 24 and I completely agree with the lack of material that keeps my interest.
I just finished reading Lamb by Christopher Moore and I LOVED IT! This weekend I started another book of his, but I am not very far into it.
If you just want to try some books I suggest going to the library. Take out a few books in the popular fiction or new fiction sections and try them. If you don't like them, you won't have spent any money, and if you do like them the librarians are usually pretty good at recommending others you would like.
5hmmm well if you liked certain books start with reading other books written by those authors (the content and the writing style tends to be similar throughout all their books). I enjoyed all the books you mentioned above. try some of these authors (some of which books you have already read by them)

*there are soooo many more...
when you go to a library and bookstore read the notes of the books on the covers and see if the content is something that you are interested in. these books will usually be in the same section of what you have already read.
6Personally, I love Margaret Atwood. Amazingly talented, intelligent and witty Canadian writer. 2 of my favourites are her scifi's Oryx and Crake and The Handmaid's Tale, also liked Alias Grace.
