Ive been dating this boy for a while now, and i have never felt like this before. I really do LOVE him, i didnt even cause a scene when i met the parents!
But thats when it started. The day i went round his house, i met his parents and his older brother. I got along with them fine, good infact.
A couple of weeks later i was lead in bed, nodding off to sleep and all i could think about was his brother. He was stuck in my head, i have no idea why.
I had a dream/ nightmare, although it wasnt scary. Somewhere in this "daze" he asked for my number >?
Then... in the morning, i regreted not giving him my number >? why would that be, when i find my boyfriend way more atractive anyway>?
I had to tell some one about this, but i couldn't, i cant trust anyone.
Nights later im still having this dream over and over again & it gets worse every night, it just keeps reacouring and reacouring, like a song on a continous loop. I just want it to stop!
So i told my friend about it who is close with my boyfriend however i couldnt take the risk of letting him know who it was that kept popping into my head, but whilst i was talking my boyfriend over heard, so i had to tell him, but i couldnt tell him that it was his brother. So i told him it was someone else.
i just want it to stop! Stop! Stop! Stop!
Im finding it hard to consentrate with my work because he wont leave my head. The only time hes not in my head is when im around him. He has no idea about this, and i feel really awkward when im near him, but i cant let this show
Please Help, How can i make it stop ?! x

Well the more you obsess the longer it will last. Change your sleeping style, get a new pillow, get some lavender incense, hang a dreamcatcher and hopefully this will help mix up your dreams. Also, maybe you should start a dream diary. If you write down your dreams it will help cleanse your brain. Either way, you cannot control your dreams so your boyfriend will realize that it's not your choice. Eventually it will stop and youll start dreaming about making out with someone else.
1I think it will pass with time. I've always gone through periods where I'll have a number of dreams of a similar theme.
You could try doing some research on dreams and their meanings. Recurring dreams indicate that you have some unresolved issues (that probably have nothing to do with the brother!). For example "... Brother also has religious implications and thus represents spiritual issues. Consider also the familiar phrase "big brother is watching you" which indicate that your dream has to deal with issues of authority and oppression."
You said you "didn't even cause a scene" when you met his family. Are you still worried about his family's acceptance of you? Maybe the dreams have to do with your nerves.
2I agree with Pistil, you could also research Gestalt psychology and dreaming. This approach believes that every person or object in a dream actually symbolically represents a part of yourself. So, what are you afraid of in the dream? What part of yourself does this guy represent for you and how does it make you feel? You should read more about it, it is a very interesting way of examining dreams, especially reoccurring dreams that bother you. Usually this is taken to mean that you have some unresolved issue which is represented by the symbols occurring in your dreams. If you do some research about Gestalt and take some time to work through aspects of your dream, you may be able to resolve the issue for yourself. Good luck.
3Yes i will try different sleeping methods. Thanks, yes i will need to do some indepth research. It feels much better to know that ive told someone.
4Thanks x
