I may not be the tidiest person in the world (although I try) but I am fastidious when it comes to personal hygiene and grooming. I brush my teeth at least twice everyday and shower at least once every day etc... My problem is that my partner is not the same way. He is a smoker (which I hate) and he does not regularly brush his teeth. He tries to kiss me and I turn away so he ends up kissing me on the cheek instead. He usually brushes his teeth in the morning if he has time but never at night because he usually falls asleep in his chair and then stumbles to bed, half asleep. He has not been to the dentist in years because he doesn't have dental coverage. Overall, I am completely and totally turned off by his lack of oral hygiene and smoking. I don't what to do anymore, I have told him several times that I don't like kissing him because of his bad/smokey breath or sometimes I'll just say 'your breath stinks, it's gross and I don't want to kiss you.' But it doesn't change anything. When we first got together, he quit smoking but then he started it up again and now he does not seem to be commited to quitting. Even after he just brushes them, usually his breath still smells not very good. I don't know how to get through to him. Do you guys have any advice? (Even when he doesn't smoke, he still does not brush his teeth often enough).
