I started taking Mercilon last week.
I never used a birth control pill before and I started in the first day of my period.
So, ladies, when can I start having sex without protection?
My fiance and I are virgins and we are both STD clean.
We are thinking about using condoms too.

I am pretty sure they tell you to wait at least a month before you have unprotected sex.
1Yes, usually a month... but shouldn't you have gotten this information from your doctor? Condoms are a good idea too.
21 month of unmissed pills.
3Read the instructions that come with it if you have any more questions.
Hi, I'm the poster.
I'll talk to my doctor, but I have to wait a week or more. I just want to know how people usually do.
In the instructions, it is writen that Mercilon start working imediately (if you start it in the first five days of your period). If you start later, then it's writen you should wait one week.
I think it is such a short period of time!
4I took a different pill, but it took a month to take effect. If you want to have sex in the mean time, use condoms. Read the fine print on your medication, it will tell you for certain. Or, phone up the pharmicist or clinic to be sure. Better safe than sorry!
5Always. Use. Condoms. Period.
I understand that you're virgins, and that you're getting married, but it is still a good practice. Birth control pills are not 100% effective, and condoms aren't either. Together, though, they'll work perfectly (or at least to 99.99999999999999% effectiveness).
I've always been of the understanding that 'the pill' was to be taken for one month before they work to their full potential.
6Wait the month. You've obviously already waited a while (I mean, you're ENGAGED already) so what would an extra 3 or 4 weeks hurt?
7I Think You should what before you start having sex, Me and my husband Didnt wait and I was on the shot and got pregnant, so think is sex really that imported right now I mean you've come this fare in waiting and your getting married, hold out because think of it this way the first time a guy does it
it takes him a long time to cum, and in doing so Sex last a long time, but After that 30 to 40 min tops the more you do it before you get married the less exciting it is to have sex with your husband then you'll have to work harder at pleasuring each other, because when one person wants it the other person doen't createing disagreement and Fights that will lead to ucussing each other of having a relasion with others because he or she doesnt want to do it at that monment. and make sure you communicate with him on all levels first becore making this move in to having sex, and waiting intill marrige is best, and sex without condums are hold to enjoy once you've trid them, its just not the same.

8For lots of brands, it used to be one month. For some I'm fairly certain it still is.
But for quite a few now, they start working only 7 days after you start taking them. And if you start taking them during the 1st day of your period, and in some instances the 5th or 6th day, they start working right away. But of course there's nothing wrong with waiting a week to adjust to taking them at the right time, plus you will worry less!
Using condoms too will really take away from the worry, and lessen that extremely slim chance that if you are taking your pills correctly, you can still get pregnant. Its true that the pills just dont work properly for some people, but there's really unfortunately only one way of finding that out.
If it tells you 7 days, it should be 7 days! I know lots of different brands that work that way as well
